Dr. Soliman's Structural Performance and Extreme Events Research Group
Welcome to Dr. Soliman’s Structural Performance Research Group within Oklahoma State University, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Our group focuses on analysis of civil and marine infrastructure systems to address stressing problems facing their life-cycle performance, sustainability, and resilience to extreme events. Our research integrates large-scale testing, experimental mechanics, and probabilistic analysis to characterize system performance under combined actions of gradual deterioration and sudden extreme events. The group is funded by several entities at the state, federal, and private levels. These entities include the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science & Technology (OCAST), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). Please visit the research page for more information on our research thrust.
